Quick Start

Get started with Spooler by quickly creating a sample brief and edition. If you need more detail or get stuck, refer to the specific sections for each step below.

  1. Create a brief. A brief is like a podcast or show, with its own RSS and JSON feeds.
  2. Create a library for the brief, adding cover art if desired. The library will hold all of the segments you create for the brief.
  3. Create an edition, which will become the first episode of your show.
  4. Add segments. Segments are individual story modules that make up each edition. Upload a few short audio files as segments. The segments will show up in your Library.
  5. To create the edition playlist, drag segment tiles from the Library on the left to the Edition rundown on the right . Easily rearrange them by moving individual segments up and down in the stack.
  6. To preview how your edition will sound, click “Generate Audio.” The ordered segments are compiled and processed with Dolby.io Voice Enhance for real-time automated leveling and sweetening. You can see and listen to your edition via the Player tab.
  7. Like what you hear? Return to Edit, change the edition’s status to “Published” and click "Update Edition.”
  8. You’re done! Subscribers can now download and listen to your new edition.
