Users and Roles

Spooler allows teams to set up users with different roles, allowing the right level of access for each member of your team. Spooler offers three role tiers, with varying degrees of access.

Admin

By default, all Spooler users have admin privileges, which allow them full access to all of Spoolers features. Admins can create new briefs and add and edit content for any brief an organization owns.

Producer

Producers can create and manage editions and segments for briefs to which they have been assigned, but they cannot create new briefs or access editions outside of their assignments. To manage a producer's brief access, admins enable user access via the Access tab of the brief's edit page.

Contributor

Designed for journalists or voice talent who only need access to specific stories, the contributor role can only see and edit segments to which they have been assigned. A producer or admin might create a draft segment with a script, then assign it to a contributor to read and upload the audio. Once complete, the contributor assigns the segment back to the producer for publication. To assign segments to an individual user, select the user from the "Assigned To" dropdown menu on the segment's edit page.
