RSS Feeds

Spooler automatically generates three feeds to make it easy to publish your show across multiple platforms. URLs for all of these feeds are available on the View Brief page:

Editions Feed

The Editions Feed is your brief's standard podcast RSS feed. Use this feed URL to submit your show to other podcast platforms. The feed contains the most recent published edition, plus all editions marked Evergreen, to build a standard podcast episodes feed.

The Editions Feed is your standard RSS 2.0 feed for all traditional podcasting purposes.

Segments Feed

In addition to a standard episode-style podcast feed, Spooler also publishes a Segments Feed. The Segments Feed contains all segments that have been published in the brief's editions. Each segment is listed as an <item> in the feed. This feed may be useful for a context in which the publication of each individual segment is important. For example, some smart speaker programs can ingest these feeds to make it easy to publish individual news stories on their platforms.

JSON Feed

Spooler publishes a JSON feed that includes significantly more metadata than the traditional RSS 2.0 feed for podcasts. The JSON feed includes detailed playback information for the most recent published edition, including stop/start points for each segment and individual segment cover art. The JSON Feed powers Spooler's web-embeddable player, and also may be useful for app integrations, to enable easy playback and track listings for the currently published edition.
